Traditionally, woven filter meshes are fabricated into discs or special shapes by cold punching, for one thing, mesh might deform due to pulling strength when being punched (disc might be oval shape after punching), for another, colding punching is not be able to keep the edges from fraying, which means after puching, mesh strands will fray.
As laser cutting technology is introduced into texitle industry, these problems or issues can be solved. Mesh will not have the fraying problem as mesh will be sealed after laser cutting, what's more, cut mesh piece will have the same size as designed without deformation, because laser cutting does not give extra strength on the mesh but only cutting by laser from above.
